Anand Kannan is President of Community Preservation Partners, LLC, at WNC & Associates, Inc., and is responsible for leading the preservation and development teams at WNC His expertise is with the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing low-income housing projects that are or will be financed by tax-exempt bonds, tax credits, USDA 515, 521 and 538 funds.

Kannan joined WNC in 2010 as Vice President of Community Preservation Partners, which was founded in 2004 to address the growing need to preserve the aging affordable rental housing stock across the country. Kannan has more than 12 years of direct experience in the development and preservation of affordable housing. During his tenure, Anand has been responsible for leading the expansion of WNC’s ownership and development portolio, which now totals 57 properties in four states representing over 3,000 units.

Prior to joining WNC, Anand developed or consulted on over 80 projects, including almost 6,000 affordable housing units. He has consulted and assisted on projects across the country, including properties in California, Washington, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado. Anand holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis in Accounting.
